5 Things That Inspired Me This Week 3/4/2016
Each week I compile a list of 5 things that inspired me to be healthier and happier throughout the previous week. This helps me think about what makes me stay motivated to feel my best. I also hope that sharing these ideas may help motivate you to try incorporating some of these ideas into your lives as well. Feel free to leave a comment and share your own weekly inspiration. I’d love to hear from you!
3-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
I came across this recipe on Pinterest and it is so easy to whip up! And oh man, it’s like the real deal. The only thing…4 servings…really?! Let’s go with two. Bonus: it is vegan and gluten-free!
- 1 can full-fat coconut milk, refrigerated overnight
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Scoop coconut cream out of the top of the can (leaving the liquid) and blend with the maple syrup and cocoa powder until smooth. Serve and try not to eat the whole thing!
Focusing on Gratitude
Stuck on a spinning bike…wanting to leave in first 10 minutes. “Escape to bathroom? Wait no, it’ll be worse when I get back…” Anyone else feel me? Spinning is not my thing. I need to channel my mom and sister’s love for it. After feeling so drained during class I decided it’s time to really focus on some changes to my energy levels. After searching for ideas on Pinterest, one suggestion really stuck with me… since a lot of these circumstances are mind over matter — focus on what you’re thankful for in the moment. So, now in exercise classes where I feel like I can’t do another single rep…or want to bail, I focus on being thankful for my body being mobile and the opportunity to show up.
I made my first Thrive Market Purchase last weekend and my order arrived 3 days later! I was so impressed with how quick the shipping was. I ordered organic coffee, almond butter, apple cider vinegar, fish oil and ground turmeric. All things that are really expensive at the grocery store and/or difficult to find locally. I used 2 $10 off coupons in addition to the discount, plus free shipping. I haven’t looked into what the membership entails but plan to take advantage of at least one more order during the 30-day trial. You can receive 15% off your own first order using this link.

Front-Clasp Dog Harness
While we work on teaching loose leash walking, this harness is amazing at eliminating frustrations! Now when I run with Riley I do not get an arm workout for the first mile or two while she can’t resist running at her pace instead of mine. Totally worth having!
